(Wonder Woman? Flash? Green Lantern?)

I agree with Matt that the best course would be for Superman to somehow help a world weary Batman find his way again.Jim Shelleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05006833955333061262noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4778276361957351199.post-31888264451792345752014-06-03T18:53:59.496-04:002014-06-03T18:53:59.496-04:00@StevieB. The major thing though that would turn it around for me would be if they actually had the guts to allow Superman to effect his world view.

Basically if this is an older, worn down Batman and Superman helps renew his own sense of hope that would be interesting. But so far it just looks like Frank Miller's Wrestlemania. I'll wait for it on HBO or something. Man of Steel really soured me on the DCU movies. If it turns our to be good (or even okay) then I'd be willing to see the next one in the theaters. In the meantime, I'll just enjoy the DCU they're building on TV (Arrow and The Flash).Renohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07823784138400910666noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4778276361957351199.post-5881913666582582552014-06-02T23:21:57.275-04:002014-06-02T23:21:57.275-04:00@Shannon How awesome would that be! The more I think about it, the more I love the idea of the heroes having to battle their evil counterparts!

@JP Cote I agree with your Kryptonite statement. Unfortunately, if this truly is a versus movie, what else would they use? I hate the idea too, but I'm prepping for it.

I was actually thinking, maybe the "Good Luthor" brings the JL to his world to save it. No destruction comes to Earth Prime but we get to experience lots of cool stuff. Maybe a bit of a cop out, but it's a way to do it. Also, I would LOVE it to be more like World's Finest.

@MattComix I think we see completely eye to eye on this. It was my whole inspiration for this post. They are much better fighting together. It's there polar opposites as heroes that make them so interesting when they work together. I really liked the Superman/Batman runs from years ago. I've been collecting them in trade for some time. When I see a page and it's Superman's thoughts then Batman's thoughts, I love it.

I would have liked to see Superman more established alone in these movies but I think this is just DC trying to catch up to the movie game. Hopefully they don't botch it.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00143150449786493009noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4778276361957351199.post-6433177308992210662014-06-02T22:48:01.507-04:002014-06-02T22:48:01.507-04:00I've really always thought this whole idea of ...I've really always thought this whole idea of Superman vs. Batman was one of the dumbest questions in all of comics. Not just because of the obvious gulf between their abilities but more because they're both heroes. Why does anyone require that validation of their favorite hero based on their even hypothetical ability to destroy another?

Besides no one truly wins that fight unless you just really hate the other character and maybe that's fine when one is talking smack with other fans but that's not what these characters actually stand for and I have no real desire to see message board debates made into comics or movies. That's a lousy excuse for entertainment IMO.

Don't get me wrong I realize that having there be some antagonism when heroes first meet is kind of superhero writing 101. ..but when your first salvo in promoting your movie is quoting a book that features Superman as a government stooge and Batman psychotically getting off on hurting him that doesn't inspire confidence for me.

I also found the lack of true Man Of Steel sequel very disappointing but I can also see using Superman as the audience window into the larger DCU. It's not a bad concept by itself and one that could potentially play very well to the themes of Superman as a bringer of hope and helping humanity accomplish wonders. It plan "A" for people who don't know how to write a Superman story or what Superman is all about.

Totally agree with the Dark Knight Returns. Been there, done that.

Using the CSA as a main villain would be cool but maybe too much or too soon after the destruction in The Man Of Steel. Pinning Superman vs Superman again, seen it already.

Considering Luthor is in the movie, maybe we are looking at something closer to World's Finest. We can only hope . ..JP Cotehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17147704252567241149noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4778276361957351199.post-59542045762054576532014-06-02T07:48:50.726-04:002014-06-02T07:48:50.726-04:00I would like to see a Crime Syndicate or JSA movie...I would like to see a Crime Syndicate or JSA movie.
